Overview

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's legendary album The Dark Side of the Moon, our team created an original animated music video for the song Brain Damage as part of the official international animation competition.

Developed in collaboration with artists, animators, and mentors from Animation Club School, the film became both a creative experiment and a real-world production challenge. Through traditional frame-by-frame animation, the team transformed the song's themes into a visual journey exploring consciousness, identity, and the fragile relationship between our inner and outer selves.

The Challenge

The project needed to translate the emotional and philosophical themes of Brain Damage into a compelling visual narrative while respecting the legacy of one of the most influential albums in music history.

At the same time, the production served as a practical educational experience, requiring artists to collaborate under real production conditions, solve creative challenges together, and deliver a finished film to competition standards.

The Solution

The team approached the project by focusing on the psychological themes at the heart of the song.

The visual narrative explores the delicate line between what society considers "normal" and "broken." Through symbolic imagery and character-driven storytelling, the film examines the hidden parts of the mind, asking questions about self-perception, emotional isolation, and acceptance.

Rather than illustrating the lyrics literally, the animation creates an original interpretation that invites viewers to reflect on their own inner world. The central message encourages compassion toward ourselves and those around us, reminding us that understanding begins from within.
